FREE PULSATION: a cyberspace ensemble!

Please Join US for a UNIQUE MUSICAL EXPERIENCE!
WHAT IS FREE PULSATION?
++++++++++++++++++++++++
-An ever-changing ensemble of sound explorers, musicians, composers, performers, visual artists, writers and film-makers who want to participate in a fun, free, improvisational, and unique orchestra of sorts.
-Music which deals with large group improvisations. Imagine playing "on the fly," playing intuitively, playing whatever FEELS RIGHT IN THE MOMENT. Have fun with it! A freestyle JAM. Let yourself go free & DON'T THINK too much.
-Music which mixes more than one genre, pieces which build from many different approaches and schools of composition. Polystylism is key to Free Pulsation.
-Music that thinks "OUTSIDE OF THE BOX."
-A Musical therapy for those of you who want to let go of the rules and work without limitations.
- Think of all the different dynamics you can get from one instrument. All the different playing techniques, multiphonics, innovative tunings, special tones, mystical gems, unexpected sounds, lyrical beauty, and more!
-There is no predicting what dreams may come to life, where the song is going, or where we'll end up except that its going to be an impassioned quest! I never know where a song will lead us.
-Music that explores expansion and contraction, cycles, orbits, repetions, rising and falling.
-Music that might use wild systems of notation, graphic notation, no bar lines, no time signature, wildly shifting time signatures, extensive dynamic controls, etc.
-Music that employs large, varied ensembles, ethnic instruments, east-west fusions, electro-acoustic fusions, etc. The more synthesis the better!
-A KALEIDOSCOPIC FLEXATOR
HOW THE PROCESS WORKS...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
IF YOU ARE ENTHUSIASTIC AND MAKE MUSIC, YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!
Free Pulsation has two incarnations....
1. A group of people playing instruments simultaneously. (LIVE)
2. A digital ensemble. (ONLINE)

The digital ensemble is currently stationed at iCompositions.com (click the link above to be redirected). If you are not a member, registration is quick, easy, and (best of all) FREE! There are over 50,000 other musicians and composers sharing and collaborating through this impressive hub on the internet.
The digital ensemble will have to be managed sequentially--until other user-friendly solutions arise.
Composers: Submit a "BASIC GROUND TRACK" - a piece with some time (5 - 15 minutes seems appropriate to me) and space for other players' development. You may choose to submit information about the track (key, chord progressions, bpm, suggested number of players, suggested instrumentation, etc.) The parameters are really OPEN on this.
*NOTE: Reading music is not a requirement to join FREE PULSATION, though some people may provide information and sheet music for other interested participants who would like to use this.
Please submit all tracks to:
zedzebra@gmail.comMusicians: Add a comment to the TRACK you are interested in contributing your music to that says "SIGN ME UP." FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Open a track with your line-in device, or your midi editors, what have you, and freestyle along with us. When you have finished a satisfactory take, send it back to me. The track will then be re-uploaded and the next person in line will add their unique voice to the mix. I will coordinate passing around the tracks and uploading each new
version as they arise. At some arbitrary point we will declare the
piece as "FINISHED."
Visual Artists, Performers, Film-Makers, Writers: Contribute your original artwork (nothing copyrighted unless you have permission) and have FREE PULSATION create a soundtrack or an inspired piece of music to accompany your project. FREE PULSATION loves to interact with all the art forms. Submit movies, drawings, paintings, photographs, poems, lyrics, etc. Music always adds an extra dimension to every art project! Please
contact me today with your artwork.
I have also heard of software which allows you to join a server online and JAM with other people who have their instrument hooked up for recording into their computer (i.e. soundcard line-in device, microphone, pick-up, etc.) The original intended space for Free Pulsation is a live multi-person improvisational setting. Once I demo this software, I will write more about it. But this virtual jam session sounds like a cool way to capture many people at one time and freely pulsate together!
Any more questions or clarifications, I'd be happy to reply to any messages or e-mails. This has been a dream of mine for a long time. Some dreams do come true.
LET'S MAKE SOME BEAUTIFUL MUSIC TOGETHER!
